Hardware Setup
Connect printers, payment terminals, and other hardware to Plasma.
Plasma works with the hardware you likely already own. No proprietary equipment required.

Tablets
Any modern tablet works with Plasma:

Payment Terminals
We use Stripe Terminal for payment processing:

Cash Drawers
Any USB-connected cash drawer works. The drawer opens automatically when cash payments are processed.
Connecting a Printer
Star Micronics (Recommended)
- Connect the printer to your network (Ethernet or WiFi)
- In Plasma POS, go to Settings → Printers
- Tap Add Printer and select your printer from the list
- Print a test receipt to confirm
Tip
Star printers support automatic kitchen ticket printing when orders are sent.
Epson (Beta)
- Install the Epson Connect app on your tablet
- Pair the printer via Bluetooth or network
- In Plasma, add the printer through Settings → Printers
Connecting a Payment Terminal
Stripe Terminal
Plasma integrates directly with Stripe Terminal for payment processing.
M2 Reader — Our most popular option. Compact, wireless, and supports tap, dip, and swipe.
S700 — Full countertop terminal with a customer-facing display for signatures and tips.
Setup Steps
- Create a Stripe account at stripe.com
- Order your terminal from the Stripe Dashboard
- In Plasma, go to Settings → Payments → Connect Stripe
- Follow the pairing instructions for your terminal
Stripe handles all payment processing. Funds deposit directly to your bank account with transparent pricing.
Station Configuration
For multi-station setups (bar, kitchen, etc.):
- Go to Settings → Stations
- Create stations for each area
- Assign printers to stations
- Configure which items route to which station
Example setup:
- Kitchen — All food items
- Bar — All drinks
- Expo — All orders (for quality check)
