Kitchen Display System
Real-time order tracking and kitchen workflow management.
The Plasma KDS keeps your kitchen in sync with the front of house. Orders appear instantly, organized by priority and station.
Display Modes
Plasma KDS offers multiple views to match your kitchen workflow:
Classic View — Orders appear in a horizontal timeline, oldest to newest. Best for kitchens that work tickets left to right.

- Clear time tracking per ticket
- Bump buttons at bottom of each order
Tiled View — Grid layout showing multiple orders at once. Ideal for high-volume operations.

- Color-coded by order type
- Touch any tile to expand details
Split View — Separates orders by category or station. Perfect for kitchens with multiple prep areas.
- Left side: appetizers, salads
- Right side: entrees, mains
- Configurable per station
All-Day View — Aggregates items across all open orders. Essential for batch cooking.

Order Lifecycle
Order Received
Ticket appears on screen with audio/visual notification. Timer starts counting.
Cooking
Kitchen acknowledges by tapping the order. Status changes to "In Progress."
Ready
Tap "Done" to mark complete. Order moves to expo or recall list.
Served
Front of house confirms pickup. Order archived for reports.
Station Routing
Orders automatically route to the correct station based on item categories:

Configure station routing in the Portal under Settings → Stations.
Order Management
Bumping Orders
Mark items complete by tapping the bump button. Options include:
- Bump item — Mark single item done
- Bump all — Complete entire ticket
- Partial bump — Mark some items, hold others
Recall
Accidentally bumped an order? Access recent orders from the Recall view:
- Tap Recall in the top navigation
- Find the order by number or time
- Tap to bring back to active display
Priority Indicators
Visual cues help identify urgent tickets:
- Red border — Order over threshold (configurable)
- Rush flag — Marked priority by server
- VIP badge — Special guest indicator
Metrics & Performance
The KDS tracks kitchen performance in real-time:
- Average ticket time — From received to bumped
- Orders per hour — Throughput tracking
- Items pending — Current backlog
Access detailed reports in the Portal under Reports → Kitchen Performance.
Multi-Station Setup
For kitchens with multiple displays:
Add KDS Devices
In the Portal, go to Devices → Add KDS and register each display.
Create Stations
Define stations (Grill, Fry, Expo) and assign item categories.
Assign Devices
Link each KDS device to its station during setup.
Offline Resilience
KDS continues displaying orders even if internet drops:
- Orders cached locally
- Syncs automatically when reconnected
- Visual indicator shows connection status
New orders from POS require network connectivity to reach KDS.
